Do you struggle to prioritise your own health and wellbeing?
-
Is caring for others burning you out?
-
Finding it hard to switch off from the demands of your work in education or medicine?
-
Do you feel guilty if you say “no” at work?
Though there are clear distinctions between the roles of teachers, doctors, nurses, and their support teams, those who enter these caring professions share similarities in managing complex systems, high workload and accountability, often with little support and limited resources.
Those drawn to train in medicine or become teachers often have core values of altruism and selflessness, making it difficult to hold boundaries around their own time and resources as they continually strive to serve others.
At the heart of the wellbeing programmes Melanie has created for these teams is the understanding of this compassionate mindset, combined with lived experience of the stresses of a long-term career in education.
It is Melanie’s mission to care for those who care for others: our doctors, nurses and teachers, so they enjoy sustainable, healthy careers and positive wellbeing.

Looking After Teachers and School Support Staff
Drawing on her background of over three decades in education, Melanie pioneered The Educators’ Mindset Solution, specifically designed to meet the needs of teachers and school staff.

Teacher efficacy and well-being
Teaching is a demanding and high-stakes profession. Retention of qualified staff continues to be a challenge with 44% of England's state-school teachers plan to quit by 2027, according to the latest NEU poll. Protecting teachers from stress and burnout is crucial to ensure that children are taught by healthy, happy staff who can give their best.
Mind Solutions can work with your staff in teams or individually to empower them to release stress and manage workplace challenges in a healthy way, resulting in a reduction in sick leave and an increase in well-being and performance. Happy, healthy teachers teach better lessons. Happy, healthy teachers build better relationships with students. Happy, healthy teachers stay in the profession.

Looking After Medics &
Their Support Staff
Building on the success of her wellbeing services in schools, Melanie developed The Medics’ Mindset Solution, collaborating with staff in local surgeries to ensure the sessions were suited to the demands of working in healthcare settings.
Those working in healthcare face high-stakes, high pressure demands. The sessions delivered are designed to fit around working hours and offer actionable strategies to relieve stress, helping medics and support staff to regain balance and focus to avoid burnout.
Feedback From Staff in GP Surgeries:
Feedback from The Medic’s Mindset Solution sessions show that staff appreciate the input and find benefits from designated sessions to focus on their own wellbeing. Melanie regularly delivers stress relief and sleep optimisation workshops to staff at Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre in Cambridge as well as in other local surgeries. Sessions can be delivered in-person or online to suit the needs of your workplace.
The Medics’ Mindset Solution information can be found here. Strategies in this programme offer impactful and fast-acting wellbeing support which are easily integrated into medical workplaces.

Retaining and Valuing our medics
According to the BMA’s recent report, “General practice across the UK is being pushed to the brink of collapse, with a shrinking workforce, growing patient demand, unsustainable workloads, and falling morale.” There is recognition that retaining doctors across the whole NHS and preventing burnout is a huge challenge.
The Royal College of Nursing reports a huge increase in the number of nurses leaving the profession and is calling for more to be done to prevent burnout and the loss of these valued professionals. Data gathered between 2021 and 2024 shows the number of qualified nurses leaving within 5 years of registration has increased to 67%.
